Congratulations to our first four runners to complete the 50km route!!!

Can confirm it is a SUFFERFEST. But the sticker and free beer from Wheelhouse Brewing Company made it all worth it 🍻

Weather window is looking great for the next few weekends if any of you are thinking of tackling the 25km or 50km routes!!!
This stretch of sun may have even dried out the soggiest of sections, making gumboots optional 🤣
Stickers and cold beer will be waiting for you at Wheelhouse afterwards 🍻

Just a reminder to always be vigilant of wildlife in the area, cary appropriate gear, and buddy up if possible. Good luck everyone and stay safe out there.

Shout out to our good friend Ross Macaulay for the KIGS logo/ sticker design 😍 Can't wait to pick our first set up from the printers this week!!

Can confirm. 10/10 GNAR rating on the traverse yesterday. 100% saturation with at least 4 knee deep technical cruxes 😆. Do NOT trust boardwalks!

A few updates: The slide on the Mt. Hays road is now mostly clear. Much more manageable. Thanks Phalen for the feedback on flagging. I was able to add a few more pieces of tape to the traverse to increase visibility. There are a couple pieces of pink tape on the way down Tall Trees, we're not totally sure what these are for (future KIGS route mods? 😮) but make sure you stick to the main Tall Trees route all the way to the parking lot.

Finally, congrats to our first 25km finishers! We had a group of 3 complete on Friday and 2 more yesterday. Can't wait to see some pictures! Your KIGS stickers will be hot off the press on Tuesday and we'll make sure you get them.

Here are links to both routes on Strava. Strava is garbage for route planning, and many of the trails are automatically snapped to nearest roads, so things will look funny in some places.

DO NOT follow the Strava route precisely. Use it as a guide in conjunction with the trail descriptions we provide. Use your best judgment always.
