She spends countless hours coordinating our competitions, sitting on the Speed Skating BC board of directors, and takes part in research that helps our community. Thank you for all you do!

How can wildfire evacuation plans better meet the needs of northern rural and remote communities?

UNBC School of Nursing Lecturer Ngoc Huynh is exploring that question through research supported by a Michael Smith Health Research BC Engage Award. Her research examines gaps in wildfire evacuation plans from the perspectives of northern rural and remote care providers, where communities already experience health inequities.

In an interview with CBC Daybreak North, Huynh discussed challenges including transportation, access to emergency alerts and the assumption that everyone has the resources needed to evacuate safely.

We had a great time at Summit Camp. New friends, new skills, and so much more excitement for the upcoming season 🙌

The boys have completed their epic ride through the Rocky Mountains. Now for a weekend of rest before The Olympic Oval’s Summit Camp! Way to go you two! We are so proud of you!

Powerhouses 💪

Before Summit Camp at The Olympic Oval, Caleb and Henry are riding from Jasper to Lake Louise over the next few days! They kicked off their adventure today. If you’re travelling through the parkway this week, keep an eye out for them!

Blizzard Bike Club has been so much fun this off season and we’re thrilled to see our athletes find the confidence and motivation to tackle on bigger rides.

Celebrate Lina this Friday! 🇨🇦❤️

Join us Friday July 17, from 4-8pm at Canada Games Plaza to celebrate our three Olympians that participated at the 2026 Milano-Cortina Olympic Winter Games!

Lina, Meryeta O’Dine, and Gavin Rowell will all be recognized by the City of Prince George for their achievements and for representing PG and Canada on the world stage. This will also be an opportunity for community members to connect with the Olympians and learn more about their journeys. You don’t want to miss it! 🤩
