🥋🇨🇦 BC ON THE WORLD STAGE — EIGHT ATHLETES. ONE COMMUNITY.

From dojos across British Columbia to the world stage in Poland! Karate BC proudly congratulates our eight athletes who represented Canada at the 2026 WKF Cadet, Junior & U21 World Karate Championships in Bielsko-Biała, Poland.

🇨🇦 Our BC representatives:
🥋 Emily Chan, West Van Karate Academy
🥋 Ethan Choi, West River Karate
🥋 Seiji Cronje, Nechako Karate Club
🥋 Niayesh Haftlang, Tiger's Eye Academy
🥋 Tiffany Jiloca, Reisky Martial Arts and Fitness
🥋 Katrina Lee, West River Karate
🥋 Anisha Nijjar, Burnaby Karate Academy

Each athlete has followed a different path to reach this stage. Some have been competing internationally for years. Others have risen rapidly through the competitive ranks. What unites them is the dedication, discipline, perseverance, and courage required to compete among the world's best.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to their instructors, coaches, clubs, teammates, families, and supporters.

Representing your country at the WKF World Championships is an extraordinary achievement. So take a deep breath and appreciate the moment.

To our eight athletes: Congratulations. You have made your clubs, your communities, and British Columbia proud!

Proud Instructor Moment! Seiji and Kannika are on their way back from the Pan American Championships where Seiji won his way up to a top 5 finish after losing in the bronze metal match. Kannika lost her initial fight to last year’s champ during her international debut. The future is bright!

Seiji and Kannika head to Costa Rica for the Pan American Championships with Team Canada. To qualify for the games they both had to place top two at the National Championships. Thanks to Jin and Jordan for helping them prepare over the summer
