🇨🇦 FROM PRINCE GEORGE TO THE WORLD STAGE! 🌎🚵‍♀️

Junior Cyclist Grant recipient Jenna Foreman is heading to Italy to represent Team Canada at the 2026 UCI Downhill Mountain Bike World Championships! 🇨🇦🇮🇹

At just 16 years old, Jenna earned her invitation to Worlds after an outstanding 2nd-place finish at the Canadian Downhill Mountain Bike National Championships in the Junior Expert U19 category.

Jenna’s 2026 season has been remarkable. She has stood on the podium at every race she has entered, including four 1st-place finishes to open her BC Cup/Canada Cup season. But what makes her journey even more impressive is everything it has taken to get there.

Training as a downhill athlete in Northern BC means shorter riding seasons, limited access to technical terrain and countless kilometres travelled to train and compete. Jenna has met those challenges with determination, hard work and an incredible commitment to her sport.

And beyond her talent on the bike, Jenna embodies so much of what we hoped to recognize through the Kris Yip Memorial Foundation Junior Cyclist Grant Program: dedication, perseverance, sportsmanship, kindness and giving back to her cycling community.

Supporting young Northern BC cyclists as they pursue big goals was a dream our family had when we created the Foundation in Kris’s memory. Seeing Jenna pull on the maple leaf and take her place on the world stage makes that dream feel very, very real. 🫶

Jenna, we are incredibly proud of you. Ride hard, soak in every moment, and know there is a whole community back home cheering you on. 🇨🇦❤️

It somehow feels like yesterday.

The excitement at the start line. The cheers from volunteers. The encouragement between riders. The quiet determination on the climbs. The laughter at the finish. Friends reconnecting, new friendships beginning, and a community coming together to celebrate something much bigger than a bike ride.🚴🏼🚴🏽‍♂️

Those are the moments we'll remember long after the kilometres have faded.
The 2026 Kris Yip Memorial Fondo was filled with kindness, sportsmanship, inclusion, and heart, values that Kris lived every day and that continue to inspire this event.🌟

From helping us create a safe course and welcoming venue to providing essential equipment, services, and logistical support, your contributions played an important role in making the 2026 KYMF a success. After hours on the bike, good food and a chance to relax with friends and family are all part of the Fondo experience. We were so grateful to have both of you join us and help create a fun, welcoming atmosphere at the finish line. 🌮

🌞💜 A heartfelt thank you to our incredible community supporters who helped make the 2026 Kris Yip Memorial Fondo such a special day.

A special thank you to Tourism Prince George for providing the container space for our vendor village, as well as free skate rentals and games that gave participants, families, and spectators even more reasons to stay, connect, and enjoy the celebration after the ride.

Thank you to Two Rivers Gallery gallery for offering creative art activities that kept our youngest visitors engaged and smiling throughout the day. It was wonderful to see families enjoying the event together.

And thank you to Kim Barry of Keystone Massage for providing post ride massages to our participants. After a long day in the saddle, your care and expertise were greatly appreciated by our riders.

Each of you helped create an atmosphere that was welcoming, fun, and inclusive for everyone who joined us. We are so grateful for your generosity and for being part of the Kris Yip Memorial Fondo community. Thank you for helping make this year's event one to remember! 💜

🚲💜 A heartfelt thank you to our Friends of the Fondo: Ruckus Skis Boards & Bikes , Koops Bike Shop , and Evolve Sport & Cycle .

Having the support of our local bike shop community means so much to us. These businesses do far more than keep bikes rolling. They help grow the sport, welcome new riders, support experienced cyclists, and strengthen the cycling community every single day.

Their support took many forms, each making a meaningful difference. Ruckus provided our SAG wagon service, ensuring riders were supported throughout the route and helping everyone feel safe and cared for on the road. Koops Bike Shop and Evolve Sports & Cycle generously donated prizes, adding to the excitement of the day and helping us celebrate the accomplishments of our participants. Together, they helped create the welcoming, supportive atmosphere that defines the Kris Yip Memorial Fondo.

Thank you for believing in our vision and for helping us continue Kris's legacy of kindness, inclusion, and a love of cycling. We are incredibly grateful to have you as part of the Fondo family.

💜 It's hard to find the words.

As we look back on this year's Kris Yip Memorial Fondo, our hearts are incredibly full.

What we witnessed wasn't just a day of cycling. It was a community coming together in the most meaningful way. Riders encouraging complete strangers. Volunteers cheering until the very last cyclist crossed the finish line. Families, friends, sponsors, and supporters all giving their time and energy to create something bigger than themselves.

It was everything we hoped this event would be.

When we created the Kris Yip Memorial Fondo, our dream was simple: to build an event where everyone feels welcome, supported, and celebrated, regardless of experience or ability. A place where kindness comes first, where sportsmanship matters, and where people leave with memories that last long after the ride is over.

This year, that dream came to life once again.

Every rider who rolled up to the start line, every volunteer who gave their time, every sponsor who believed in our vision, every community partner who helped make the day possible, and every person who stood along the course cheering, played a part in creating something truly special.🌟

Most of all, thank you for helping us honour Kris in the most fitting way we know how. His kindness, humility, generosity, and love for bringing people together could be felt in every corner of the event.🫶

As you watch this video, we hope you're reminded of everything that made the day so special: the smiles, the excitement, the encouragement, and the incredible community that surrounded us from the very first pedal stroke.🚴🏽‍♀️
