We gratefully acknowledge the land that we ride on is the traditional, unceded territory of the Lheidli T'enneh people Our weekly mountain bike group rides are Prince George Cycling Club sanctioned events. Our rides are fun, non-competitive and a great way to meet other lady mountain bikers and get to know local riding areas and trails. Rides are usually around 1.5 hours in duration. Rides are pl
anned for beginner, intermediate and advanced riders. This means, beginner groups may ride green/blue trails and usually do one lap, while intermediate/advanced groups may ride blue/black trails and often do two or more laps. Although beginners are welcome, it is expected that you have ridden your bike on trails before. If you are completely new to mountain biking (i.e never ridden a bike or a bike on a trail ) - let us know and let's chat about how we can best support you to get out on the trails and have fun! Rides happen: Thursdays at 6:00pm (**start date May 20**)
Where: Alternating between Otway and Pidherny - meeting place will be posted every Sunday to our social media. Please follow us: www.facebook.com/galsngears and Instagram()
THINGS TO NOTE:
1. Safety First:
- DO NOT come if you are sick, someone you live with is sick, or you have known exposure to COVID-19
- We will split into several small groups of max 10 people.
- Please keep 3m distance from other riders on the trails/in the parking lot.
- We will contact trace by collecting your name and phone number at the start of each ride.
2. Equipment Needed:
All riders should have a functioning mountain bike, a helmet, and everything you need to be self-sufficient on the trails. This includes a spare tube, a chain link, a pump, and a multitool, your own bug spray, snacks and water. We ride in most weather conditions, so make sure you’re ready for whatever mother nature throws our way! Due to group sizes, leave your dogs at home.
3. This is a PG Cycling Club (PGCC) ride. You will need a membership to join us. Sign up for membership online, prior to the ride, here: https://www.pgcyclingclub.ca/membership/
4. Socializing
We are looking into ways that we can have some social time after the ride. Stay tuned for details on this.
5. Let’s have fun out there everyone!
