Congratulations to everyone who went to Regina this past weekend to compete at the 2026 CopaSask BJJ Tournament. We had 10 competitors enter and they came home with 5 Gold, 7 Silver, 3 Bronze. Way to go everyone!

Getting started in Jiu-jitsu can be intimidating for anyone, especially women. Meet Rayna. She has been training for about 3 years. Here is what she has to say about Jiu-jitsu.

"Jiu jitsu has changed me in the best way!

As a woman, at first stepping onto the mats can be intimidating, but that's where I believe I've grown the most. Some days feel strong, some days feel really challenging, but each one teaches me something. I’m learning to trust myself, while staying humble and open to growth.

That’s what keeps me coming back!

I really believe jiu jitsu is something every woman should try at least once.

It’s not just about learning how to defend yourself, it’s about discovering a quiet kind of strength you didn’t know you had. The kind that grows slowly, through showing up, being uncomfortable, and learning to trust yourself.

We didn’t get the wins last night.

Kolton and Gunner made their first MMA walks under the bright lights, and although it didn’t go our way, we’re grateful they’re both healthy and in good spirits. Disappointed, but doing good. This is a tough sport.
Sometimes you’re the hammer, sometimes you’re the nail. It comes with the territory.
What matters is their courage. Both showed heart and are already eager to get back in the gym.
We don’t lose, we learn. We grow.
