The Prince Albert Sharks Swim Club concludes a remarkable season with an outstanding performance at the 2026 ManSask Swimming Championships, held in Saskatoon from July 9–12. Seven Sharks’ swimmers competed at the provincial championship and their hard work and determination was rewarded with an impressive collection of medals, personal bests, club records, unforgettable achievements and Second Place amongst Saskatchewan’s Small Clubs.

Congratulations to Ali for her silver medal in the SB9 Para Swim 100m Breast and receiving the Breakout Performer of the Year—Paralympic Program Award!🥈 🏅 Prince Albert will be cheering her on as she represents team Canada in the Pan Pacific International Swimming Championships which will be held in Irvine, California next month! 🇨🇦

Sharks Shine at Final Practice & Junior Gala!

What a fantastic way to wrap up the season! Today marked the final "Pleased Practice" for the majority of our Prince Albert Sharks, and we are bursting with pride over the incredible progress we witnessed.

A huge shoutout to our JR Sharks 3 & 4 swimmers! Today's swim gala was a testament to your remarkable improvement and dedication. Watching you race, we see a bright future for our club. Thank you for all your hard work this season—you are the future of Sharks swimming!

For our Canadian Trials and ManSask qualifiers: while you weren't in the pool with us today, we are cheering you on from the sidelines. Good luck as you prepare for your upcoming high-level competitions—we know you will make us proud.

Thank you to every Sharks swimmer for your commitment. Have a fantastic summer, and we can't wait to see everyone back in the pool this fall!

Prince Albert Sharks Make Waves with Outstanding Success at the 2026 Junior Provincial Swimming Championships
Saskatoon, SK (June 12–14, 2026)

The Sharks showcased exceptional talent, determination, and team spirit, returning home with a collection of medals from every colour—gold, silver, and bronze—along with several personal milestones and new provincial qualifications.

One of the biggest highlights of the championship was the remarkable achievement of two Sharks swimmers earning their very first “AA” qualifying times, securing their spots at the upcoming ManSask Provincial Swimming Championships to be held in Saskatoon next month. These accomplishments significantly increase the size of the Prince Albert Sharks team competing at the highest provincial level.

After two years of relentless dedication, hard work, and perseverance, Mikaela A achieved a major career milestone by earning her first-ever AA qualifying time in the 50 Freestyle, officially qualifying for the ManSask Provincial Swimming Championships.
Mikaela’s outstanding performances included:
🥇 Gold Medal – 50 Freestyle (AA qualifying time)
🥈 Silver Medal – 100 Freestyle
🥈 Silver Medal – 50 Breaststroke
🥉 Bronze Medal – 4×50 Mixed 14 & Over Freestyle Relay
Her achievement is a true example of patience, resilience, and believing in the process.

Obadiah G made an immediate impact in his first Provincial meet. He achieved two AA qualifying times in the 50 Breaststroke and 100 Breaststroke, earning his place at the ManSask Provincial Championships.
Obadiah’s remarkable results included:
🥇 Gold Medal – 50 Breaststroke
🥈 Silver Medal – 100 Breaststroke
🥉 Bronze Medal – 4×50 Mixed 14 & Over Freestyle Relay

There were outstanding performances and personal bests across the team.
Jamie C continued to demonstrate his competitive strength by earning:
🥈 Silver Medal – 100 Breaststroke
🥉 Bronze Medal – 4×50 Mixed 14 & Over Freestyle Relay
Bella K contributed to the Sharks’ relay success by winning:
🥉 Bronze Medal – 4×50 Mixed 14 & Over Freestyle Relay
Bella also achieved several important qualifying standards, including:
“A” times in 100 Freestyle for the 14, 15, and 16 & Over age categories
“A” time in the 200 Individual Medley
“A” times in the 50 Backstroke for the 14, 15, and 16 & Over age categories
Ethan B showed tremendous determination and delivered strong performances throughout all of his events. He also contributed to the Sharks’ relay team, finishing 4th in the Mixed 14 & Over 200 Medley Relay.
Nadia M and Chloe M also represented the Sharks with pride, demonstrating excellent performances, strong racing skills, and continued improvement in all of their events.

Congratulations to all Sharks swimmers on an amazing championship! The future is bright, and we look forward to seeing our growing team compete at the ManSask Provincial Swimming Championships next month.

Prince Albert Sharks Swimmer Max Zhao Shatters Long-Standing Club Records at International Competition

The Prince Albert Sharks Swim Club is celebrating an outstanding achievement by 16-year-old swimmer Max Zhao, who delivered a remarkable performance at the prestigious Mel Zajac Jr. International Swim Meet, one of Western Canada's premier swimming competitions.

Competing in the highly competitive Open Men's category against some of the strongest swimmers from across Canada and beyond, Max demonstrated exceptional skill, determination, and composure. His performances earned him qualification for the finals in both the 400 Individual Medley (IM) and the 200 Backstroke, a significant accomplishment at an international-level meet.

Adding to an already impressive weekend, Max rewrote the Prince Albert Sharks record book by breaking three club records:

200 Butterfly
200 Backstroke
400 Individual Medley
What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that some of these records had stood for more than 24 years, highlighting the historic nature of Max's performances.

Breaking club records is a testament not only to Max's talent but also to his dedication, work ethic, and commitment to excellence in training. Competing against older and more experienced athletes in the Open Men's category, Max proved that he belongs among the top swimmers in the region.

"Max's achievements at the Mel Zajac International Swim Meet are truly exceptional," said the Prince Albert Sharks coaching staff. "To qualify for finals and break multiple club records—some of which have stood for over two decades—is an incredible accomplishment. We are extremely proud of his hard work and determination."

The entire Prince Albert Sharks family extends its heartfelt congratulations to Max on this historic achievement and looks forward to seeing what he accomplishes next.

The Prince Albert Junior Sharks participated in the Craven SPORT Services Racing Series #4, held in Saskatoon on Saturday, May 16. Fifteen swimmers travelled to Saskatoon with enthusiasm and hope, as it was the first sanctioned swim meet for the vast majority of the junior swimmers. The junior sharks swimmers demonstrated exceptional performance across all age groups. Obadiah G achieved his first “A” time and qualified for the Summer Junior Provincial Swimming Championship, which will be held in Saskatoon next month.

Highlights from the swim meet:

* Jose C: 1st in 200 free and 50 back.
* Obadiah G: 1st in 50 fly, 50 back and 50 breast. Achieved an “A” time in 50 breast.
* Aubrey B: 1st in 25 back, 25 breast and 25 free.
* Ethan B: 2nd in 50 free, 3rd in 100 IM and 4th in 50 fly.
* Nadia M: 3rd in 100 back, 4th in 100 and 400 free.
* Brynn H: 2nd in 25 back and 25 breast.
* Kali L: 2nd in 25 back, 3rd in 50 free and 4th in 25 free.
* Dylan M: 1st in 25 back and 25 free.
* Avery B: 3rd in 25 free.
* Chloe M: 5th in 100 free and 8th in 50 back.
* Haniel G: 3rd in 100 free and 5th in 50 free.
* Jeremiah G: 1st in 25 breast, 5th in breast.
* William G: 2nd in 50 breast, 7th in 50 free.
* Hanna H: 5th in 50 back.
* Rachel H: 5th in 200 free and 7th in 50 fly.

We are incredibly proud of our junior swimmers and their remarkable performance. They are demonstrating the potential of the club for the future. Congratulations to all swimmers who participated, and a heartfelt thank you to the parents for their unwavering support. We also extend our gratitude to the coaches for their dedication and guidance.
