End of an era.

I opened Ransom Bike Co in 2020 and have had the absolute pleasure of riding with so many great people here, but Ransom Bike Co. is no longer.

Chasing the PowTown Rad team around with Andrew and Justin was a blast and I can’t wait to get back riding with that crew. Good times were had with the Coast Mountain Academy students and teachers and the Summer Camps at the OLC with Terracentric Coastal Adventures were a hit! It was so fun riding with the Tla’amin Youth on the only two sunny days we had in March!

I’ve been fortunate enough to get to know some top notch teens through the Youth Ambassador Program. Thank you for sharing your time with me. I lucked out getting Jordan and Hillary to do some coaching over the last two seasons. They brought a lot of passion to the programs. Thank you both.

I’ll see you out on the trails.

The Indigenous Youth Mountain Bike Program and have partnered with to create a new series of riding tee highlighting our beautiful logo created by T’Sou-ke artist Mark Gauti.

The logo depicts the Thunderbird bringing mountain bikes to the people – a symbol of reconciliation and reconnection to the land.

All proceeds from donations will go towards the provision of trail building workshops for Indigenous Youth as well as supporting the development of our upcoming documentary film project, which we will be announcing shortly.

The Thunderbird Shirt wears like your favourite tee, and wicks fast in hot conditions to keep you fresh on the bike and at the pres-ride hang out.

With a lightweight heathered fabric set to become a summer riding staple, the Thunderbird delivers a casual and cleverly patterned fit that won’t bag out with repeated wear over multi-day adventures.

You can purchase through the IYMBP.ca website and the link in our bio.

Welcome to the team Hillary! “Hi my name is Hillary Marciniak and I am a new member of the Ransom biking coaching team. I have been riding bikes for as long as I can remember, but was introduced to Mountain Biking in 2018. I quickly fell in love with the sport, and I try to get out into our amazing trail network regularly. I am a teacher in Powell River, and I am so excited to take my teaching skills out of the classroom and onto the trails. I have my PMBI level 1 certification and I look forward to helping kids develop their fundamental skills on their bike. I hope to see you all out on the trails in the near future!”
So stoked to have you on board!
