The Port Perry Lumberjacks are proud to announce the signing of defenceman Donovan Kennedy from the North Central Predators U18 AAA program.
Donovan brings a tremendous work ethic, a rugged defensive presence, and the grit and determination that embody Lumberjacks hockey. A reliable defender who competes hard in every situation, Donovan has proven he can shut down opponents, win battles, and make life difficult for the competition.
Having already suited up for the Lumberjacks as an affiliate player on multiple occasions last season, Donovan made an immediate impression on the coaching staff and management group with his maturity, physical play, and commitment to the defensive side of the game.
“We had Donovan with us for several games last season as an affiliate player, and he showed us exactly what he is capable of,” said GM Tom Parish. “His ability to close gaps quickly, use his body effectively, and separate players from the puck is something that can’t be taught. He competes every shift and brings the kind of toughness and character that helps teams win. We’re extremely excited to have Donovan joining us full-time.”
As he prepares for his first full PJHL season, the Lumberjacks believe Donovan has all the tools to become an important part of the Green and Gold’s success moving forward.
With his relentless compete level, physical edge, and team-first mentality, Donovan is poised to make a significant impact both on and off the ice.
