🌟 Athlete of the Month – June 2026 🌟

This month, we are so excited to celebrate Leo as our Athlete of the Month! 🥋✨

Leo is such a sweet and kind young athlete who has been doing an amazing job on the mats. Even at such a young age, he shows so much effort, respect, and willingness to learn every single class. 💙

He has been listening very well, working hard, and improving more and more every week. His positive attitude and gentle personality make him a joy to have in class, and we are incredibly proud of the progress he has been making.

Watching Leo grow in confidence and skill has been wonderful, and we cannot wait to see how far he will continue to go on his Jiu-Jitsu journey. 🌟💪

All of our students deserve this recognition, but this month the one who truly stood out was Leo. ✨

Today my heart feels fuller than ever.

Watching my daughters compete in such an important competition for the first time and give it their all was one of the most emotional moments of my life. Two gold medals, one silver, and one bronze — but beyond any medal, what makes me the proudest is their courage, dedication, and the love they put into everything they do.

Many years ago, I chose to put aside a lot of my personal and professional life to build a better life for my family. And not for a single second have I ever regretted that choice.

Because looking at my husband and my daughters today makes me certain that I made the right decision.

You are the greatest pride of my life.

And watching the love for jiu-jitsu pass from one generation to the next, seeing you compete with courage, humility, and heart… there is no better feeling in the world.

This was only the first important competition of many more to come. ❤️🥇

11 years ago, we came to Canada with one dream: to live for jiu-jitsu.

At that time, Marvila was at his peak. Beating him was almost impossible. He won major competitions in Brazil and had a huge future ahead of him. One of the reasons we moved here was so he could compete in the IBJJF in the United States.

But life changed our plans.

When we found out I was pregnant with our second child, he didn’t hesitate for a second to put his dreams on hold to build and take care of our family.

And through this journey, we had our five children, met incredible people, and built our academy — a beautiful community where he was able to reconnect with the jiu-jitsu he has always loved so much.

Today, after all these years, seeing him finally compete in an IBJJF tournament here in Montreal, giving everything he had and winning, fills my heart with a kind of pride I can’t even explain.

Because even after all these years, he is still an incredible fighter. But more than that, he is just as incredible of a teacher — and that is rare. VERY rare.

Today, with a heart full of love and pride, I want to congratulate him and let everyone know: this was only the first of many more to come.

Maybe he never became the big name in the sport that I know he could have been, because he chose to live another dream too: his family. But I truly believe his name will still echo through the students and lives he changes every single day.

If people gave him the opportunity to show everything he knows and everything he is capable of, there would be no competition. And I truly believe it’s only a matter of time before people are lining up at our doors to learn from him.

Because he is one of the most incredible people to exist. Humble, loving, and with a heart bigger than all of Canada.

And I’m so proud to be his wife. And so happy knowing I’ll stand beside him for the rest of my life. ❤️

🌟 Athlete of the Month – May 2026 🌟

This month, we are so proud to celebrate Brooklyn as our Athlete of the Month! 🥋✨

Brooklyn is one of our little princesses from the 4–6 years old class, and we could not be happier with how much she has been growing. Her improvement in behavior has been absolutely incredible, and she has been doing AMAZING in class! 💖

She has been listening so well, learning so quickly, and showing so much effort every single class. Watching her confidence grow and seeing how proud she is of herself makes us incredibly proud too.

Brooklyn has truly been shining on the mats, and we are so excited to keep watching her journey and growth. 🌟

What an amazing day at MSJ Combat 🚔

Our kids had the best time learning, asking questions, and even getting to see the police car up close. It was such a fun and meaningful experience for everyone.

A big thank you to the officers for taking the time to come and connect with our students. And thank you to all the families who came out and made this moment even more special.

We loved every second of it ❤️
