Nothin' Dragon

Nothin’ Dragon is a team of male and female paddlers formed in 1998. The team was formed in 1998 in Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada.

We are a group of enthusiastic, committed and fun-loving male and female senior dragon boat paddlers. We train on Burrard Inlet off Rocky Point Park, Port Moody from March to November and race from April to September. We promote participation, fitness, camaraderie and support the community. We also host the annual Inlet Spring Regatta each April. Formed in 1998, team Nothin' Dragon's first season began in January of 1999. Our first race was at the Alcan Festival in June, where we won gold in the seniors' division (the only race against our peers!). We have since followed up that thrilling beginning with a number of accomplishments. We became the Nothin' Dragon Paddling Society in 2022. We are also members of the Old Mill Boathouse Society. We strive for individual and team excellence by participating in an enjoyable competitive sport and supporting each team member in becoming fit, skilled and dedicated to leading an active and healthy lifestyle.

🐉 Teamwork on the water!

Footwear & Orthotics staff put their teamwork into action during their Dragon Boat Experience with us on August 13!

Their enthusiastic crew reported that they had a blast and would love to return. Even our resident harbour seals were impressed — they kept popping up to watch the action! 🦭

As a new member of the -Cities Chamber of Commerce we were excited to take Chamber Members and Staff out on a Dragon Boat Experience. Seals, great weather and an enthusiastic crew. Even a visit on our loading ramp from the Port Moody's finest to help with a vehicle that went a little too far down the ramp.

On Monday, July 13, Nothin' Dragon had the pleasure of introducing Ukrainian youth from the Maple Hope Foundation to the exciting sport of dragon boating! 🚣💙💛

This Dragon Boat Experience was made possible through a generous Community Grant from the Rotary Club of Port Moody.

For many of the youth, it was their very first time in a dragon boat. The Maple Hope organizer reported that for many of their youth this was their very first experience on a dragon boat, and thanks to Nothin' Dragon's guidance, they felt safe, included, and inspired from the moment they stepped into the boat. They told us the experience was a true highlight, leaving the youth with new skills, greater confidence, stronger teamwork, and wonderful memories. We were especially happy to hear they'd love to come back and paddle with us again in the future!

A heartfelt thank you to the Rotary Club of Port Moody for helping make this meaningful community experience possible, and to our amazing NDPS team volunteers who shared their time, enthusiasm, and love of dragon boating.

What a fantastic day for our annual Rocky Point to Deep Cove paddle! 🚣‍♀️🐉

Over 23 km, we shared plenty of laughs, enjoyed some well-earned donuts, and celebrated another great adventure together.

A big thank you to our steers and safety boat driver for getting us there and back safely, and to everyone who brought the delicious home-baked treats.

Most of all, it was a day filled with good friends, a real sense of accomplishment, and lots of smiles.

Who says seniors slow down? These seniors certainly have Nothin' Draggin'! 🐉💙

🐉❤️ On June 12, we were honoured to welcome students from Suwa'lkh School for a special Dragon Boat Experience, generously sponsored by Centrum Solutions in Celebration of Goran's memory.

We recently received wonderful feedback from the school—every single student loved their time on the water! They asked us to pass along their heartfelt thanks to Centrum Solutions for making this memorable experience possible, and to Pajo's Fish & Chips for providing lunch before the students joined us on the water.

Creating opportunities like these is only possible through the generosity of community partners who believe in the power of connection, teamwork, and shared experiences.

The best part? Suwa'lkh School is already looking forward to returning in 2027! We can't wait to welcome them back. 💙🚣
