That’s a wrap on another Bill Mills Memorial Junior Bonspiel.

Thank you to all the teams for your continued support of this event. To the coaches who put in countless hours guiding and teaching the players and the parents for driving and cheering and supporting their children through all the ups and downs, thank you for your time, not just this weekend, but all season long. While watching the many great competitions on the ice is exciting, seeing the players switch from competitors on the ice to friends off ice, playing games and laughing is what makes this game great.

To all the teams and players competing at Nationals, BC Winter Games and BC High School Provincials later this month, we wish you all good curling and safe travels.

Are you interested in curling but not sure if it is for you? Why not come out and give it a try. We allow juniors to come out for up to 3 sessions before they must register for the program.

Junior curlers aged 11-20 can come out most Tuesdays or Thursdays from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm starting September 9th.

Our Little Rock curlers aged 7-10 can come out on Thursdays from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm starting September 25th.

We ask that you bring a clean pair of runners, wear pants that you can stretch in  (i.e. sweat / track pants or leggings), warm upper layers and a helmet for those players under the age of 12. We will provide the rest of the equipment.

If you are interested in trying curling, please email [email protected] to let us know which day you are interested in coming out so we can confirm that there will be enough coaches available.

Hope everyone is excited for the new season.

The ice is almost ready. The rental brooms have been cleaned and enjoying their last few days of sun. The rental shoes have been checked over, taped, and repaired.

But how about your equipment? Have you checked your equipment yet?

Are your broom heads worn out or dirty? Do they need to be cleaned or possibly replaced? How about your grippers? Are they worn out and showing smooth patches or are they peeling? Do they need to be replaced?

If you need to replace or upgrade anything, come by our Open House on Saturday September 6th from 1-3 pm and check out the pop-up curling store provided by Langley Curling Centre.

Why not bring a friend and have them try curling at the same time. The ice will be ready and we will have coaches available to introduce them.
