Port Hardy Volleyball Club 2025 Season
Welcome back everyone to the girls Port Hardy Volleyball Club season. If you are new to “Club” volleyball, welcome and we hope this document will answer some of your questions.
Girls aged 13-18 are welcome to register. Depending on the amount of players who register we will run a mixed age team/teams depending on level of play and how many players of each age.
Pre-Registration: Once again this year we will be holding “Pre-Registration”, we need to have a FB message (Port Hardy Volleyball Club) or Email from anyone who is committed to play from January to May of 2025 so that we can figure out numbers.
You must include in your message your full name, birthdate and position you play. Pre-Registration is DUE BY November 1, 2024.
Coach/Manager Positions: We need to have a coach and a manager for each team, if we do not then there will be no team. We are expecting an increase in interest for club ball again this year. We anticipate we may have enough interested players to run 3 teams. We will have a call out for more coaches/assistant coaches but nothing is solidified as of yet. We also need a committed dedicated managers to work with each coach. Please put your name forward if you are interested in the manager position. This will also be DUE BY NOVEMBER 1. If we do not have any other volunteers, there will likely be some very disappointed young ladies.
Registration: This year VBC is using the same Sport Lomo platform as last year and once I have the pre-registration sorted out, I will send to players the link for the full registration and it will be accompanied by a quick how to (do not go to VBC to register until we give you the go ahead). We are revamping our registration process and fees so stay tuned for changes.
Tournaments and Travel: In the past each team has typically traveled to the South Island three times and then once to Vancouver. That being said, for a committed team there may be
more opportunity to travel if they wish. All tournament costs are split among the athletes attending that tournament. All travel arrangements are to be done by the athlete’s parent/guardian. We highly recommend ride sharing and coordinating rooms, but the club is not responsible for this. Tournament entry fees range from 425-600$/team for two-day tournaments and 250-350$ for one day events. This divided among a 10-player team would be 25-60$ pervplayer per event.
Practices: Historically practices are at the PHSS and Gwa’sala-’Nakwaxda’xw school gyms on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8, but depending on team numbers, coach availability, andother gym user groups that may be subject to change.
Looking forward to a great season.
