Congratulations!!!
HERE TO CELEBRATE SAMMY NOH 🔥📢
Trainer Spotlight: Sammy Noh
Weight loss: 60+ pounds
What are your tips to stay motivated?
👉Remember why you started. I remember how hopeless I felt as I gorged myself on food to deal with grief and anxiety over the ambiguous loss of my father. I reflect on my goals daily and take a moment for gratitude each morning.
What is your meal plan like? Any tips for those looking to lose weight too?
👉Currently, my meal plan is very regimented as I am training for a photoshoot at the end of June for my upcoming birthday. My nutrition and workouts have been meticulously planned out since January of this year. The biggest tip is to plan. Nutrition is a skill. Planning your meals is a skill! Plan your workouts and nutrition like meetings with yourself. Your nutrition doesn't have to be perfect all the time. It just needs to be consistent. As you develop one skill, you work on learning the next skill. With practice, it eventually becomes automatic and less overwhelming. I didn't think I could do it while having a hectic work schedule. Having great support has also helped me on days that seem difficult. Hiring a nutrition coach has been a game changer! I've been working with one for the past 4 years.
What does your current plan look like today vs a few years ago?
👉My nutrition continues to evolve as I continue to see progress. A few years ago, I ate and drank my sorrows. I still worked out 5 days a week, which proves you can't out exercise your nutrition. I do far better with structure. I go through phases throughout the year when I purposely try to gain weight (muscle), lose fat, and phases when I just maintain. I can still enjoy my favourite meals such as burgers and ice cream, as I plan for those indulgences. On days that I slip up, I get back on track the next day.
Knowing what you know now, anything you wish to share?
👉I have experienced dieting/nutrition on both sides of the spectrum. I'm currently experiencing what it takes to get in bodybuilding shape. I've also experienced what it feels like to let yourself go. I know how frustrating it can be trying to lose weight. It felt like a huge mountain for me to climb and I felt defeated at times. I broke my goals into 5 pound increments and lost 5 pounds at a time. I had to be honest that my current lifestyle was not truly contributing to my goals. I've tried all the fad diets out there. I had to learn to change my relationship with food and exercise. Instead of exercising to punish myself, I now exercise to celebrate my body. It takes consistent effort and patience to see progress. Remember why you started. Give yourself a chance.
What is your goal and or focus for the rest of 2021?
👉To nail my photoshoot at the end of June. Then continue on a path of healthy eating.
