Port Clements Rod and Gun Club We are a community based club and shooting range on Haida Gwaii supporting local hunting and fishing.

Prior to our r***e range being built in 1988, the PC Rod and Gun Club existed as an advocacy group for better logging practices and sustanability in fisheries. We joined the BCWF in 2005, which has given us more of a voice over policies effecting our communities. Our R***e range is still in operation in Port Clements, and we offer a number of community shoots throughout the year.

Our first sausage gong show on Sunday, Oct 4 sure brought out the participants. It was the most well attended event we have hosted over the past 4 years, and the first shoot where we had a women's pistol event. The age of competitors ranged from 6 years old to folks in their 50s. We also had a number of new attendees which always adds to the dynamic.

Weather forecast was predicting 100% rain, and it was sunny all day! What an awesome warm day indeed!

The Sep13, 2026 clean up event included a bunch of tree & brush clearing. Today three board members, Sylvan, GiO & Pam, attended the Range & put those trees and brush through a massive wood chipper. Thank you to Old Massett Village Council for donating the use of the wood chipper, and to the Village of Masset for donating the truck today. We couldn't have done it without everyone's support!

The weather today was superb while clays were flying over 100km/hour at Haida Gwaii's Trap bunker. Some attendees were surprised to find that there is a second part to the Range - our trap shooting area!

We did things a bit different this time: we didn't keep score and awarded shooters random prizes. As always thank you to our sponsors! These events are made way more fun knowing that there are prize gift cards.

Second clean-up event of 2026 had 9 folks helping out!

Special Effort volunteer award for September 2026 goes to Hans & Margaret for mowing the Range throughout the summer. As a result of their amazing ongoing efforts, our team today was able to focus on different tasks, including hard core tree removal and drainage.

Last person working today, showing us how to get it done, was Sylvan the brush cutting monster extraordinaire.

Thank you to the Old Massett ADP program for their donation. Everyone was stoked to take home some fish!

Special effort volunteer award for August 2026 goes to Derick Thierstein. Derick led the removal of a bunch of busted targets, and an old well used stove made by Craig Beachy.

Derick is a professional wood stove installer and sure knows how to remove chimneys.

TODAY!! Join us for the Port Clements Rod & Gun Club Autumn Clean Up Day on Sunday, September 13 at 12pm.

Come lend a hand getting the range cleaned up and ready for fall. Coffee and snacks will be provided. Just bring gloves - we will provide everything else.

Everyone is encouraged to attend and is welcome to join in!
