This past year we took a step back from 'business as usual' to figure out what life after 60 could look like. Retirement isn't in our future picture, so count on us being around for a while. Our hours and service will look a bit different than in the past, but most of you had a trial run with our new program last year, and but for a few disappointed folks, we've come out okay! This is from our website.
PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING 2022 BUSINESS HOURS
The firewood yard will be OPEN this year on an 'IF OUR MACHINE SAYS WE ARE OPEN, THEN WE ARE OPEN' basis. We have grown weary (and certainly some of our customers must have as well) of the never ending list of folks patiently waiting for wood to come into stock, so we are changing up our MO a bit. If we answer the phone and have wood in stock, and if you can come get it - it's yours!
For a short while we totally quit doing deliveries, but have now decided that we will keep our commercial plate for our truck, and if you are within a 5 minute drive, we will possibly be able to deliver to you. That's it!! Raymond Shores - Meridian Beach - Crestomere, or near areas - We will no longer hold wood, or book future deliveries.
As the summer progresses, you may find that we are open 2 days a week, and closed 5. This will be a bit different from last summer when we were open only 2 days a month in the summer. Our voice mail will certainly ALWAYS have up to date details.
We are presently dealing on bringing in up to 20 loads of tamarack, so we hope to have a good supply of this great wood on hand for fall. Last year, our birch logs were cancelled by the trucker who was to bring them, so the final word on birch is try to find it elsewhere, or we would encourage you to try to fall in love with tamarack, which is our wood of choice for indoor burning when you are used to birch. We had hoped to be able to keep our pricing around 350 per cord for Tamarack, and 295 for dry pine, but with recent diesel price hikes, this may be unrealistic. Pricing is always determined by the final price we have to pay per ton for delivered logs, - and this year, the price of diesel is likely going to have an impact on the final delivered price. We have NO poplar.
Go ahead and give us a call if you want to chat - and leave a message as we may be on the other line. We will always return your call - you are our customer, and you are important to us. (403-783-8804). PLEASE NO MESSAGES on messenger. We rarely see these messages, and you will think we are ignoring you. :)
