Top-end skating speed comes down to how much force you put into the ice on each push — concentric power, driven by watts/kg. So we trained 3 things:
⚡ GymAware velocity-based training — tracking bar speed live so every rep builds explosiveness, not just load.
⚡ Watts/kg progression — strength as a ratio, not a number. How much power moves relative to bodyweight.
⚡ Ankle mobility + strength — the overlooked piece. Limited ankle range caps stride length no matter how strong the legs are. Fix the ankle, unlock the stride.
2 km/h doesn’t sound like much on paper. On the ice, it’s the difference between getting to the puck first — or not.
