backyard stage and livestream studio are starting to feel a little inhospitable, particularly when it comes to the streaming technology - not exactly ideal conditions for delicate electronic devices!
new, more sheltered (indoor!) livestream locations coming soon, to be sure the virtual real time class schedule can stay bountiful - cuz if we factor in the dumpster fire of 2020 careening towards what, for many folks, is usually a time of very heightened stress, we are ALLLL gonna need a bit more movement and mindfulness timeouts over the next coupla weeks

just because it feels good to remember how good it feels to practice outside when it’s warm

yoga can help. but you def gotta DO the yoga or it won’t do a damn thing for ya.

the MOST ADVANCED PRACTICE is OFF THE MAT

it’s easy to be super zen chill on the mat when all the conditions are agreeable & the environment is accommodating & warm.
I’m not gonna speak for others and say that this is true for everyone, but no doubt I find it more difficult to keep my cool while I’m navigating in heavy traffic, or if I’m rushing late to an appointment and someone else is dawdling in front of me, or if I’m faced w another human who holds passionately differing viewpoints to my own on justice and freedom, or if I spill my morning cuppa just as I finish preparing it & begin to savour it, or ...... the list goes on & on.

so how do you do when you’re faced with holding a challenging pose for a full minute? or when you arrive to class to discover your fave teacher has been subbed out for one you def don’t like?

what’s your inner dialogue like at that point? your outer dialogue? your body language? your emotions?

do you stomp your feet, throw a fit, file a complaint for the management and leave?

do you refuse to hold the pose, say an inside voice ‘this is too hard, I won’t, I can’t do this, this is stupid’ and come out of it early while the rest of the class is still holding?

how does it make you feel after? do you notice? is there an emotional hangover?
