Pinawa Foundation Community Project Month – The Courts of the Pinawa Club
It's that time of year again where the Courts have put forth a project for the Pinawa Foundation's Community Project Month. Please consider a donation to support the AED project that would benefit the Courts and the wider community due to it's accessibility to the beach area.
Project - Refurbish and Install Automated External Defibrillator. Goal: $1,650
The AED would be located on the front of the tennis shack and could be accessed by beach visitors, Courts players and the general public during the spring, summer and fall months. The AED would be protected by suitable housing, a security camera and motion-sensitive lights to guard against theft or vandalism.
Although there are numerous AEDs in Pinawa, including in the Pinawa Club restaurant and at the swimming pool, none of them are accessible when their locations are closed The proposed tennis-shack AED would be available on a 24-hours basis to fill this gap and is closer to the likely sites of cardiac emergencies.
We already have a used ZOLL AED, but it requires refurbishing with new batteries and pads. We also need to purchase tamper-proof AED housing, security items and appropriate signage.
The Pinawa Foundation will stretch community donations by 50% (to a maximum of $3,000 per project.

➢By cheque payable to Pinawa Foundation and mailed to Box 100, Pinawa, MB R0E 1L0 or placed in the drop box at the LGD Office between May 1st and 31st. One cheque can contribute to all or any of the projects.
