⚽️Lobster Carnival Axe Soccer Camp!

Camp will be led by Coach D Cyr who is a CONCACAF A Licence coach, head coach of the Acadia Axewomen soccer program and is a staff coach with Soccer Nova Scotia and Halifax Tides Academy programs. Coach D grew up in Pictou and started their soccer journey with Pictou Soccer Club. The camp will focus on attacking and defending skills, leadership activities, technique work, and small sided games.

Lots of fun at Ricky Sutherland Field today for the Debbie Smith Ball Tournament. Funds raised will support the development of a youth ball program in Pictou. Thanks to the Pictou Ball Committee and the Smith Family for organizing this event!

Debbie was a member of staff at the Town of Pictou and a great organizer and supporter of ball throughout her life.

Thanks to the Province of Nova Scotia Scotia’s Recreational Trail Expansion Program the Fitness Trails will get a much need restoration and nice new signage. Stay tuned as we work on this exciting project!

Residents and visitors will soon have even more opportunities to enjoy the outdoors in Pictou West thanks to provincial funding aimed at improving local trail infrastructure.

The Town of Pictou has been awarded $20,000 through Nova Scotia's Recreation Trail Expansion Program to restore and upgrade the Pictou Fitness Trail.

Pictou West MLA Marco MacLeod says the investment will help improve accessibility and ensure more residents can enjoy the trail and stay active outdoors.

The Recreation Trail Expansion Program supports projects that increase access to outdoor recreation across Nova Scotia. In this round of funding, the provincial government is investing a total of $590,000 in trail projects province-wide.

The province's 2026-27 budget also includes $9.5 million for upgrades to campsites, washrooms, roads, parking lots and trails in provincial parks.

Nova Scotia's trail network continues to grow in popularity, attracting thousands of residents and visitors each year.

Soccer this morning is cancelled due to very wet fields.....lots of pooling, great for the ducks!!

Walk and Roll at the Pictou Legion will not meet Tuesday, May 12th, due to an event at the venue. The program will resume the following Tuesday, May 19th.

Walk and Roll meets every Tuesday from 1pm - 2pm at the Pictou Legion hall for an hour of easy walking on a flat surface, using a rollator or other mobility aid. Walkers are available to borrow, and the program is always free of charge.

The program is geared to those with mobility challenges and offers a safe space to be active at a slower pace. All your favourite tunes from the 50's, 60's and 70's on our All-Request Playlist. 🎶
