I have a bit of a spicy, controversial opinion for you today.

Marketing your classes by sh*t-talking types of movement by calling them pointless, harmful, or useless is not a vibe I'm into. It feels icky.

Movement has the ability to be empowering as hell, if we focus on teaching in a way that gives our students autonomy to listen to their body, make their own choices and changes to their practice. Telling them they've been tricked or are making the wrong choices seems very much like going the opposite direction.

I'm not talking about any one specific teacher or influencer, there are dozens of examples of teachers who do this and it's all getting under my skin.

So anyway, if you want a movement teacher who values compassionate, empowering and trauma-informed classes you should follow me :)

I wrote a newsletter last week about how my body has changed over the last 9 years or so. One of the messages I hope it left people with is that you deserve to feel safe in your body at all stages, seasons and phases of your life.

It's okay if your body changes, it's meant to. But the thing that never changes is your value, your beauty and how much you deserve to love.

Reclaiming your relationship movement after leaving diet culture (or while recovering from eating disorders) is really hard. While there is more content about healing food and eating, I think we sometimes lack the resources to know where to start healing with movement.

Which one of the pieces of my work that I love doing so deeply. So, if I were to go back to when I just left diet culture, this is how I'd start to move my body from a place of joy rather than hate and shame.

Join me Thursday, June 4th online for a 45 minute free, beginner friendly Hatha class! This is first monthly FREE online yoga class! The first Thursday 8pm Hatha class of each month will be free! 🎉 (please note that July's will be the 2nd Thursday)

Head over to movewithbillie.com/live-schedule to register. You'll need to find June 4th on the schedule then register for the 8pm class. You do not need to sign up for the newsletter in order to attend, but you will need to provide a few info details and sign a liability waiver.

Replay will be sent to those who can't make it to class live.

No equipment needed, lots of options given throughout class.
Cameras can be on or off, mics can be on for the first few minutes as we say hi and settle in, this part is not recorded. Once class starts I'll ask you to turn mics off for the recording.
