🏁 August 29th - Race Recap 🏁

This past Saturday we raced at Petty Raceway along with the regular classes. We had a few fast cars show up that don’t normally run with us, so there was gonna be some stiff competition at the front of the field.

It wasn’t looking like we were gonna be ready in time as we only had a day to get the car fixed after last race’s damage. The car wasn’t even in a mobile state until late Friday night, and we thrashed Saturday morning to get all the finishing touches done before practice.

In the first practice we just felt the car out, as it was the first time on the track after fixing last race’s damage. The car felt good, and in second practice, we were able to push it. We found that it thankfully, had the same speed and felt as it had before.

In our heat, we started 3rd and off the start, 2 quicker cars from behind got past us and to the front row pretty quickly. We were able to follow them through, but they got out to quite a lead. In the closing laps we started to gain ground on them, but ran out of laps and ended up in 3rd.

In the feature we started 5th and fell back to 7th off the start. We eventually made our way to 6th after a bit of battling before a caution came out. We chose 7th on the restart in order to keep the inside lane and after a bit of battling, we got back to 6th. Unfortunately, the top 5 were able to get away. In the last 10 laps, we started to gain a lot of ground on 4th and 5th and were right on the bumper of 5th for the last 3 laps. This bit us as 4th and 5th got together going into turn 3 on lap 28. We weren’t able to get slowed up in time and ended up right into the back of the 5th place car. Thankfully, the damage wasn’t terminal and we were still able to hold onto a 6th place finish.

Overall, not a bad result after everything we had to go through after the Riverglade international. Although we’ll need a new rad after that late race run in, it’s a lot easier to deal with than the damage we had to fix from last race.

On a side note, we had to deal with some new pavement in some spots of the track. This ended up making the track feel a bit better, especially on corner entry into turn 1.

We know we shouted them out in our last post, but a huge thanks goes out to our awesome group of mini stock guys at Petty. The support we received after the wreck last race was amazing and I don’t think you’ll ever get that at any other track!

💥 61st Riverglade International Recap 💥

Saturday we were at Petty Raceway for the 61st Riverglade International!

The day started out with handling issues in first practice, but after a toe adjustment, the car felt great in second practice.

In our heat race we started 1st after 1st place had mechanical issues and 2nd place elected to start at the back. We were passed pretty early, but still held on for a 2nd place finish.

In the feature race we started 3rd. Off the start, the outside row got a better start and we fell back to 4th. We were fighting for 3rd when a caution came out. We restarted in 4th and in turn 2, a few cars made some contact which ultimately ended up with us getting tapped on the left rear. This unsettled the car and sent it up into the wall pretty hard which ended our night prematurely.

Although the hit was hard, the driver was okay, which is the most important part. As far as the car goes, cosmetically it looks rough, but it doesn’t appear to have moved any of the suspension pick up points. It seems that besides some body work, we only need to replace a bent trailing arm and lower control arm in the right rear.

Despite our terrible day, it was still another great event put on by the track with a great SLMS race and sportsman race to end the night off.

Huge shoutout to the great group of racers we have at Petty! After the wreck, we had countless people come to our pit to offer advice, help, and parts to get us back up and going for the next race.

🏁 RACE RECAP - AUGUST 2ND 🏁

Yesterday we participated in the 2026 Canadian Nation Autism Foundation Race for Kids at Petty International Raceway.

In our first practice, we noticed that there was an “off” feeling in the right rear tire, so we pulled off after only a few laps. It turns out that one of the bolts holding the rear upper control arm had backed off a bit allowing the arm to move. We got it fixed in time for the second practice.
In the second practice, we were able to get quite a few laps at speed on our new set of tires, but the car was pretty tight and we weren’t sure if it was the track or the tires. We assumed the track was going to change as the sun went down, so we decided not to throw too many adjustments at the car, and just made a small air pressure adjustment before the heat race.

In the Heat race, we started 4th and split the leaders in turn 3 on the first lap. We were able to get to the lead, and because of the other cars battling behind us, we created quite a big gap between us and the rest of the field. We held on for our 2nd checkered flag of the season.

In the feature race we started 3rd, because the car that was supposed to be on the pole parked it after the heat race. Off the start we were able to follow the 2nd place car to get around the leader, but we quickly got passed by the 2 cars behind us putting us back in 4th. We were riding around in 4th just behind the 3rd place car still batting a tight condition when we overdrove the exit off turn 2 and pancaked the wall allowing the 3rd place car to create quite a gap ahead of us. Luckily, it didn’t hurt the car much, but it did destroy any chance we had of getting around the 3rd place car. As the laps wound down, we thought we were in for another 4th place finish, but in turns 3 and 4 on the white flag lap, the 3rd place car blew up and we were able to emerge through the cloud of smoke to secure a podium finish.

Not exactly how we want to get a trophy, but we’ll definitely take it.

All in all it was a decent day! Another heat race win and feature podium, but we’ve got a bit of work to do to get the car better.

We’ll be back again on August 15th for the 61st Riverglade International at Petty raceway, it should be an awesome event and we hope to see you at the track.
