The CHE is excited to welcome Samuel “Sam” Olson to the roster for the 2026-27 season!
Joining the CHE from Beaumont, Alberta, Sam measures in at a womping 6’6 and brings strong defence that uses his size and physicality to control the ice. Bilingual in English and French — and currently learning German — he brings plenty of personality and a willingness to take on new challenges.
A fan of the Carolina Hurricanes and Edmonton Oilers, Sam also follows the Anaheim Angels and Golden State Warriors, showing that his love of sports goes well beyond the rink.
Away from hockey, Sam enjoys spending time outdoors fishing, hiking, ATVing, and camping. He’s also a baseball fan who enjoys playing the game and helping coach his younger brother’s team — a great reflection of his team-first attitude and love of sport.
When he’s relaxing, Sam enjoys Remember the Titans, Cars, Kingsman, and The Simpsons. His playlist has a little bit of everything, ranging from rap and pop to country and rock.
And when game day arrives, Sam fuels up with one of his favourites: chicken alfredo and Caesar salad before getting ready to compete.
We’re excited to have Sam join the CHE family and can’t wait to see the energy, character, and competitiveness he brings to the team this season.
