Our Race Day Recap of June 13th at Peterborough Speedway by Jim Clarke, Clarke Motorsports Communications/First Draft Media.
"With 25 laps or a 25-minute window of opportunity, Mark Griffin and Keaton Pipe led the way as the 17-car Trailers Plus Ontario Legend Car Series starting field hit the track for the headline event β Saturday, June 13th β at Peterborough Speedway.
Griffin was the early race leader but heβd surrender the spot heβd taken from the drop of the green flag to Pipe with less than a handful of laps on the scoreboard. Pipe led the way with Caleb Drimmie, Adam Cuthbertson, Parker Traves and reigning series champion Dawson Drimmie rounding out the fast 5 as teams started to work through slower traffic with 9 laps complete.
Cuthbertson β a former 2-time series champion β moved into the runner-up position and had his sights set on the back bumper of the race leader when the first caution flag waved for an issue on the backstretch with 13 laps on the scoreboard. Traves wrestled away the lead with 16 laps complete and the driver of the No. 08 machine held on for the win. A storm front moved in and rain ended the main event with 20 of the scheduled 25 laps on the scoreboard. Pipe, Cuthbertson, Dawson Drimmie and Gibson Baker completed the top 5."
Special thanks to our series sponsor, Trailers Plus, for their continued support and to KOD Disposal, our race day sponsor, for making our race day possible!
See you at Peterborough Speedway on June 27th for more racing!
