The Kawartha Komets Special Needs Hockey Program new web site is still "Under Construction". The original web site is still online...giving you much of the information regarding this unique hockey program.

Description:
Structured, inclusive recreational ice hockey for children, teens, and adults who for cannot play regular minor hockey due to cognitive, physical, emotional, and/or neuro-developmental challenges such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, ADHD, Tourettes Syndrome.
- Guaranteed equal playing time
- Teamed according to ability
- Progress at own rate, no pressure
- Trained, certified Komets volunteer staff
- Volunteer staff have experience supporting individuals with special needs
- Member of Canadian National Special Hockey/Special Hockey International
Eligibility:
5 year(s) and up
Residency Requirements: Within 65 mile radius of Peterborough.

Service - $325 per season includes loan of hockey jerseys, socks, and equipment if necessary, comprehensive medical insurance, out of town games (optional) and tournament ; Some scholarship funding available * Fee assistance available for eligible applicants.

The Kawartha Komets Special Needs Hockey Program was launched in 2009 by our founder, Carol Fisher. The Komets 2020-2021 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 virus and the 2021-2022 season was cut short because of COVID. We are taking registrations for the 2022-2023 season.
