AJ PRYER | HEAD JUDGE
MEET THE CREW: AJ PRYER 💚
AJ has been part of Throwdown since our very first FVT after taking over the event in 2024, and he’s played a big role in helping us grow not just Fraser Valley, but the Throwdown Series as a whole.
Coming over from the Island, AJ is a coach at Peninsula CrossFit and one of those people you want on your competition floor. He leads from the front, supports his judges, keeps standards consistent and is always willing to jump in wherever he’s needed.
This season, AJ steps back into the role of Head Judge, leading the team responsible for keeping competition fair, consistent and running the way it should.
If you’re judging with us, AJ’s your guy. If you’re competing, maybe stay on his good side. 😏
Welcome back, AJ. 👊
JILL VANDERWAL | COMPETITION DIRECTOR
MEET THE CREW: JILL VANDERWAL 💚
Jill joined the Throwdown Series as Head Judge at OVT, but her history in the functional fitness community goes back much further.
Before making Penticton home and coaching at Beach City Fitness, Jill spent years in the Lower Mainland as an athlete, competitor and coach. She knows competition from both sides of the floor, and she knows what it takes to make an event work.
Now she’s taking on an even bigger role.
For FVT, Jill moves from Head Judge to Competition Director, overseeing the competition floor and helping keep athletes, judges, equipment and heats moving all weekend.
Basically, if something is happening on the floor, Jill knows about it. 😂
Welcome to the new role, Floor Boss. 👊
JEFF BARTLETT | PROGRAMMER
THE PUPPETMASTER IS BACK. 🧠
Jeff Bartlett with SilverBack Systems is back behind the programming for another Throwdown Series, and we’re excited to see what he has planned for FVT this year.
Jeff’s job is simple to explain and considerably harder to do: build a competition that tests the right things, works across our divisions, creates great races and leaves athletes walking away feeling like they were truly tested.
Every workout. Every movement. Every little detail you’ll spend way too much time trying to predict before competition weekend. 😂
He knows what’s coming.
You don’t.
Welcome back, Pupp
