Just wanted to give an update on the True North Turbos TNTSF62 Ball Bearing turbo with a .61ar exhaust housing and the smaller 60x55 turbine wheel. I’ve been running this turbo for a few seasons now. It has been tough as nails. Zero issues with it despite seeing 300*f oil temps and a charge pipe failure at 27psi that I’m sure sent the shaft speed to the moon(didn’t have a speed sensor on it unfortunately). We reconnected the charge pipe and continued to bag on it the rest of the day in 38 degree heat at Area 27. Next we hit the dyno at Alberta Racing Engines and beat on it tuning part throttle and doing WOT pulls at 18psi. Unfortunately we didn’t get to do any big boost pulls as we had a TPS failure end of day one and couldn’t source one same day. The car ended up making 365awhp on the hub dyno at ONLY 18psi! That is by far the most power I’ve made on a 62mm turbo at such low boost. Usually I don’t even bother running them below 22-24psi as they are just lazy. The next day we went to the Time attack at Subaru City Trackfest in Edmonton and ran the car at 18psi and won the event by a couple seconds with a 1:24.93 lap around Rad Torque Raceway. We will get the car back on the dyno and do some high boost pulls. Looking forward to seeing how much power we can make… judging from the 188kph trap speed I was able to run at Knox mountain in 2025 I suspect it will be a lot!
