As of today, we are aware that charges have now been laid in connection with the tragic incident that occurred during last year’s Okanagan Granfondo cycling event on July 13th, 2026.
Our thoughts continue to be with the participant’s family, friends, and everyone whose lives were affected by this heartbreaking loss. No legal process can undo what happened and our deepest sympathies remain with those who continue to grieve.
We also continue to express our gratitude to the volunteers, event staff, medical personnel, and first responders who responded that day with professionalism, compassion, and care under challenging circumstances.
Out of respect for those mentioned above, and as the matter is now before the courts, we will suspend further comments and allow the judicial process to take its course.
