The Central Alberta Amazons are excited to welcome Lloyd Cox as our Head Coach!

Lloyd brings over 20 years of coaching and hockey leadership experience, most recently serving as Head Coach, Associate Coach, and General Manager of the Sylvan Lake Wranglers (HJHL) from 2021–2026.

Throughout his coaching career, Lloyd has built a reputation for:

* Developing athletes for the next level, including U18 AAA/AA, junior, and collegiate hockey.
* Creating structured, fast-paced, and accountable team environments.
* Strong tactical and technical expertise with a focus on defensive systems, transition play, and special teams.
* Building positive team cultures that emphasize communication, discipline, player development, and long-term success.
* Extensive recruiting connections and relationships throughout Central Alberta.

Lloyd’s vision is to help every athlete reach their full potential both on and off the ice while continuing to build a competitive and respected Amazons program.

🏒 CENTRAL ALBERTA AMAZONS TRYOUTS – REGISTRATION OPENS TOMORROW! 🏒

🚨 NEW REGISTRATION PROCESS!

The Central Alberta Amazons are now using TeamSnap, in association with Sylvan Lake Minor Hockey Association (SLMHA), for all player registrations.

🗓️ Registration Opens: Tomorrow – July 10
🗓️ Registration Closes: August 28

If you’re interested in joining the Amazons for the 2026–27 season, register during the registration period and secure your spot at tryouts!

📅 Tryout Dates
• September 2 – 7:30 PM
• September 3 – 7:45 PM
• September 8 – 7:30 PM

🏒 WE’RE HIRING – HEAD COACH 🏒

The Central Alberta Amazons Junior Female Hockey Team is looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated, and development-focused Head Coach to lead our program for the upcoming season.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on female athletes while helping build a positive, competitive, and athlete-centered team culture.

The successful candidate will:
✅ Lead practices, games, and team development activities
✅ Support individual player growth and development
✅ Foster a culture of accountability, respect, and teamwork
✅ Collaborate with team staff, players, parents, and the Amazons Director
✅ Uphold Hockey Alberta and league standards and requirements

We’re looking for someone with:
🏒 Previous coaching experience (female hockey experience is an asset)
🏒 Strong leadership and communication skills
🏒 A passion for player development and positive coaching
🏒 Required Hockey Canada/Hockey Alberta certifications (or willingness to obtain)
