Day 14 of the is about giving back! isn’t just for physical postures, it can also include creating accessible classes for all economic circumstances. 💰 It’s no secret that paddleboards and lessons can be $$$. Financial insecurity should never get in the way of experiencing the peace and joy of SUP and that is why we have always offered trades and energy exchanges in lieu of payment. An energy exchange can be a simple as staying late after class and helping load and wash the boards, taking photos for our private parties, or offering a skill of your own.

“Why not just host free classes?” One of my teachers once said “come empty handed, leave empty handed” and that really resonated with how we model the economic accessibility of classes here. We had tried doing some pay what you can/free classes, but found that some students weren’t respecting the equipment 🤬and it kind of ruined it for everyone else, but the energy exchanges have been a great success and allowed access to SUP classes for folks who wouldn’t have had the chance otherwise 🥰

We love seeing our neighbours thrive and our community is all the better for it.

I invite you to take this opportunity to think about how you can make something you enjoy in your life more accessible to your community.

You wouldn’t believe it by how close the sand looks in the first picture but it’s actually super deep and you can’t tell because the water is so clear. I LOVE GEORGIAN BAY!
