At Desjardins Family Karate, we believe martial arts is more than just self-defense — it’s about building character, confidence, and community. Led by Sensei Ken Desjardins, a 6th Degree Black Belt with over 35 years of teaching experience, our dojo offers a safe, supportive environment where students of all ages can grow both physically and mentally.

Our program is rooted in the core values of Respect, Honour, Discipline, and Togetherness, helping students achieve balance in and out of the dojo. Whether your goal is fitness, confidence, or learning practical self-defense, you’ll find a welcoming space where everyone trains as part of a family.

👦 Classes (Ages 8 & Up)

📅 Mondays & Wednesdays, 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
📍 Brian Orser Hall – Penetanguishene Arena

💲 Fees

Monthly Instructor Fee: $155.00 (due on the 1st class each month)

Annual Club Membership: $35.00 / year

Insurance: cost TBD, added to monthly fee

Total Startup Fee: $190.00 (+ insurance)

Sensei Ken Desjardins joined Sh*to-Ryu Karate in 1986 at the age of 37. He earned his first degree black belt in 1993 and established the Sh*to-Kai Penetanguishene Karate Club in 1995 where he has now been teaching Karate for over 20 years.
