Hiking in the outdoors can do wonders for your body and mind. As stated in this article, only 6% of children will play outside on their own in a typical week. Conversely children are spending on average 8 hours a day in front of their phone, computer, tablet, etc screen!
It is noted that hiking in a natural setting will:
- decrease activity to the part of the brain that has correlation to worrying and depression
- increase your creativity and problem-solving skills
- increase your overall focus
- improve your memory
