💙WYO Blue Dawn🩵 “Seven” made her Show Pen debut with a bang and brought home the bacon 🏆 😭 at the Peachland Riding ClubMay Ranch Show last weekend. Seven came into training beginning of May and we worked so hard for this so it truly means a lot, especially given that she belongs to my amazing friendChenoa McMullen-Hunt
I am so proud of how she handled her first big outing. Getting these horses out and away from home is a huge test and so much training happens during the whole experience of the show atmosphere and everything that’s required of them during. What an incredible weekend of exposure and experience for this little fire cracker ⭐️ thank you so much Chenoa for trusting my program and for trusting me with your special new partner. Your support and friendship means the world to me ❤️ congratulations !!

I am so proud of all the hard work you’ve put in since you picked him up from training!
Both Cindy & Nazareth are new to Ranch Riding, riding one handed and with Romals to boot. This is also a new partnership as we sold Cindy’s mare last year and she commandeered Nazzy from her daughter. Thank you so much Rayna Pickering for being the best groom and helper ever !! You did an incredible job with both Nazareth & mom !! 😂
This was also Cindy’s first time ever riding a Reining pattern ⭐️

Training young horses is one of the most rewarding and exciting jobs, and at the same time, it can be one of the most difficult… because every horse is different. They think differently, learn differently, mature differently, and respond to training differently.

𝗡𝗼 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹, 𝘀𝗼 𝗻𝗼 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝗲𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿.

As they are learning, I'm learning right alongside them. I'm learning how they process information, what gives them confidence, what challenges them, and what approach translates easiest for that individual horse. 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗷𝗼𝗯 is to figure out what each horse needs from me so I can build a foundation that gives them the best opportunity to succeed.

The most rewarding part comes when it finally clicks for that horse. When the pieces start coming together and they begin to understand their job. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲, 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆. Watching a young horse gain confidence, develop through the process, and begin tapping into its highest potential is what makes training so rewarding.

Then one day, I get the opportunity to walk that same horse into the show pen. The horse that once needed time, patience, and guidance is now confident in its job and ready to show. Moments like that remind me why the foundation matters and why 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝘁.
