This post has been a long time coming, and for that, I apologize. Truthfully, it’s very bittersweet to be sharing this today, and I’ve been putting it off because I wasn’t quite ready to say goodbye for the year.
Paradise Paddles is officially closed for the season.
I can’t begin to put into words how grateful I am for each and every one of you who came out this year and enjoyed kayaking on Neil’s Pond with us. Many of you heard of us for the first time through our illuminated kayaking experience, and I never imagined just how exciting it would be. We met so many wonderful people from all over the province and around the world. I’m so glad we got to share this experience with you and see everyone enjoying our backyard at all hours of the day and night.
We were also blessed to have the opportunity to work with the Everly’s Embrace Foundation, which supports families experiencing pregnancy and infant loss. We’re so grateful for this connection and look forward to continuing to work together in the years ahead.
We gave away a brand-new kayak this year, too! That was a first for us, and the contest turned out to be so much fun and surprisingly competitive. We’re hoping to do more things like that next season.
This was our third year operating Paradise Paddles, and the support you’ve shown us has meant so much. We started the season with roughly 60 Google reviews and now have 120, with a 5-star rating. That’s something we never imagined, and it wouldn’t have been possible without our wonderful guests taking the time to share their experiences. We truly appreciate all your kind words, both this year and in seasons past.
Our Facebook community also grew from around 1,000 followers to over 4,000. We’re so grateful to everyone following along and supporting our family’s business.
To all the wonderful people we met this year, whether you joined us for our 25% off Mondays, daytime kayaking or illuminated kayaking, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you for choosing to spend a couple of hours of your days and evenings with us on the pond and for being part of another wonderful season.
That’s what makes this goodbye so bittersweet. We’ve had such a wonderful season, and we’re sad to let it go. But from our family to yours, thank you for everything. We can’t wait to see you again next year. We have some very exciting ideas for the future and can’t wait to share them with you next summer.
