SportNL was saddened to learn of the passing of William "Bill" Hogan.

Bill was inducted into the SportNL Hall of Fame in 2019 for his invaluable contributions to the Swimming Newfoundland and Labrador community.

A huge thank you to Anti-Racism In Sport for an impactful few weeks across Newfoundland and Labrador!

From St. John’s to Happy Valley-Goose Bay, their team delivered engaging sessions to more than 300 students, helping inspire the next generation to take an active role in creating anti-racist sport environments.

SportNL was also proud to participate in a dedicated session for provincial sport organizations.

Congratulations to Amelia Bazeley, age 13, on an extraordinary achievement at the Brooks PR Invitational in Seattle on June 7, 2026.

Amelia set a new provincial record of 4:45.74 in the mile race, surpassing all existing NLAA records — U16, U18, U20, and Senior.

This is a remarkable milestone for such a young athlete and a proud moment for the Newfoundland & Labrador track and field community.
Well done, Amelia — your hard work and talent continue to inspire.
