The Deadline for Board of Director and Representative applications is the end of day tomorrow, October 10th.

Bicycle NL is inviting nominations for the following board positions:

Secretary, Director of Coaching, Director of Events, Director of Inclusion, and Director at Large

We welcome members who are interested in contributing their skills, ideas, and enthusiasm to the continued growth of cycling in Newfoundland and Labrador.

We are also accepting expressions of interest in the following open representative positions:

Labrador Representative
West Coast Representative
Central Representative
East Coast Representative

Youth Representatives

BNL is seeking expressions of interest from youth athletes to contribute to the growth and development of cycling in our province in 2027. To clarify, these are youth advisory and volunteer opportunities, not a position on the BNL Board of Directors. Depending on interest, this year we may look to add youth representatives in coming seasons.

To apply for one of these positions, send along an expression of interest with a short bio and reason for applying to: [email protected]

Your involvement helps shape the future of cycling in our province. Whether you are interested in serving on the Board, volunteering with events, supporting cycling programs, or simply sharing your ideas, we encourage you to apply.

You do not need previous board experience or a background in Cycling. We seek people who exercise sound judgment, ask constructive questions, prepare for decisions, and bring insight connected to the communities we serve. Relevant experience may come from work, volunteering, athlete leadership, community organizing, education, public service, or lived experience.

It’s the last day of National Coaches Week! Today’s profile is Laura Edwards.

Laura is our mountain bike team manager, managing athlete communications and organizing team camps, meetings, and events. She provided essential team support at the 2025 Canada Games, keeping our athletes, coaches, schedules, and daily logistics organized throughout the event. Laura also supports our team annually at the Dieppe Canada Cup and is always willing to help wherever needed. Her dedication, reliability, and commitment to supporting our athletes and coaches make an enormous difference to the team.

National Coaches Week isn't over yet! Today’s profile is Nick Ryan.

Nick provides mountain bike coaching and development support for our provincial team, drawing on years of racing experience to help athletes improve their skills, fitness, race preparation, and confidence. He joins coached group rides and supports athletes at the races the team attends, providing guidance both on and off the course. Alongside Andy, Nick also served as the cycling sport representative at the 2025 Canada Games, helping coordinate and support the cycling events throughout the Games.

BNL is rounding out National Coaches Week with a few profiles from our Mountain Bike Team! This morning we have Andy Poole.

Andy previously served as our mountain bike team manager and continues to be an invaluable part of the team through communications, event planning and coordination, and excellent race-day support. A professional jokester, Andy always brings energy and laughter to the team. When he isn’t supporting our athletes, he can be found coaching his own team, the Adventure Biking Project, cod fishing, or sipping tea!

It's National Coaches Week! Today's profile is Mick Cutler.

Mick provided road cycling coaching and development support for Canada Games riders, including twice-weekly coached training rides focused on fitness, endurance, race preparation, and group riding skills. He also facilitated bike maintenance and mechanical clinics to build rider confidence and self-sufficiency, as well as rider skill sessions focused on bike handling, technique, safety, and race-specific skills. Mick has also served as Commissaire for all major NL road races this season.
