When I see myself here at the finish line I get so emotional. I’m so proud of myself for following through on my promise to myself and Jody that I would never quit no matter how hard it got.
He ran with me, I felt him deep in my heart, I heard him soaring above me over the gruelling course. I had conversations with him out there and we dropped a few F bombs together lol
When he died by su***de I thought it was the end for me too, I thought I would attempt to end my own life again.
But something happened and I knew that I had to live for both him and I.
This race in 2020 was the beginning of understanding what living really meant even through the darkest of times. That was when I first ran this course even after it was cancelled due to the pandemic.
I love you Steep, I love you Jody and I love the little Tanya for teaching the big Tanya to always find joy in everything I do. Most importantly I know that I matter and if your reading this, you matter too..
