𝟵𝗨 𝗠𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗬𝗿. 𝟭 📈

This was our first year introducing a 9U Major Program that ran adjacent to our 9U Mini League Program.

This group of amazing kids got to work on all the aspects of baseball in detail, from hitting and fielding, to even working on mechanics and set up in pitching. As well as an introduction into strength and coordination in the gym 💪

Each week the skills grew while they mastered their routines with incredible enthusiasm!

We are proud and grateful for this group being our innagural participants! 👏

PSA is rolling out two high-performance programs built for athletes preparing to compete and those looking to stay sharp throughout the season.

Our Preseason Pitching Program is designed to get pitchers ready for the start of the season. The focus is on building throwing volume, refining mechanics, and sharpening pitch ex*****on so athletes are prepared to perform from day one.

Our Summer Elite Program is full in-season development for Provincial Team, Frontier Travel Team, and collegiate athletes born on or before 2012. Running once per week, it delivers individualized throwing, pitching, and strength training, along with fielding and hitting, in a cost-efficient format that fits within a busy summer of travel and competition.

Premier Sports Academy is proud to recognize Newfoundland athletes Aaron Ball, Alex McGrath, Calum O’Callaghan, Jack McCarthy and James Piercey as they prepare to represent Atlantic Frontier at the Ontario Qualifier on the Road to Okotoks.

The five athletes are part of a 24-player Atlantic Frontier roster assembled from across the region and built to compete at the highest level of amateur baseball in Canada. Atlantic Frontier will serve as the lone Atlantic Canadian representative at the Ontario Qualifier, competing for an opportunity to advance to the inaugural Morneau Cup in Okotoks, Alberta this July.

The Newfoundland contingent will also be represented behind the bench, with PSA’s Ryan Sweeney serving as part of the Atlantic Frontier coaching staff.

Hosted by Baseball Canada, the Road to Okotoks is the country’s premier high performance baseball event for 19U athletes, bringing together elite programs and top prospects from across Canada in a true best-on-best environment. In addition to national competition, the event provides players with exposure opportunities in front of collegiate, professional and Junior National Team scouts.

“This program is the culmination of six years of hard work behind the scenes with Cory Boutilier from One Last Rep Sports to create a true Atlantic Canadian high performance travel team,” said PSA’s Ryan Sweeney.

“Cory and I opened our businesses around the same time and have shared a vision from the beginning of building more opportunities for Atlantic Canadian athletes. Many players from our region receive recognition and leave home to play for academies elsewhere. This team is an opportunity to prove that Atlantic Canada has the talent, coaching and infrastructure to compete with the best while providing athletes with a high performance pathway closer to home.

Thank you to Atlantic Baseball Academy in PEI and Maritime Rapids in New Brunswick for partnering in this initiative, and thank you to Baseball Canada for creating an event that prioritizes and celebrates high performance baseball in this country while providing a format that allows Atlantic Canada to put its best foot forward.”

The team heads to Ontario this week for workouts and an exhibition game against the Kitchener Panthers 22U team before qualifier play begins Thursday at Tip O’Neil Field in Woodstock, Ontario.
