Our Preliminary STARSkate session is designed for skaters working primarily within STAR 1–4, as well as CanSkate Stage 5/6 skaters who are ready to begin transitioning toward STARSkate!

This session provides focused ice time for skaters to work on their Skate Canada assessment items while continuing to build their skills, confidence and independence on the ice.

6:25–7:15 p.m.

CanSkate is all about building strong skating skills and confidence while having fun on the ice!

Skaters progress through six CanSkate stages while developing balance, control, agility and the fundamental skills that can lead into figure skating, hockey, ringette, speed skating or recreational skating.

45-minute sessions

Building strong foundations for a lifetime of skating!

Learn to Skate is the perfect place to start!

Designed for beginner skaters with little or no previous experience, this program focuses on building confidence, balance and the basic skills needed to get moving on the ice independently.

5:00–5:30 p.m.
30-minute sessions

Not ready to start this fall? We will also reopen Learn to Skate registration in December for a January–March option!

Registration is open for the Palmerston Skating Club’s 2026–2027 season!

With Learn to Skate, CanSkate, Preliminary STARSkate and STARSkate, there’s a program for every stage of the skating journey.

Programs are offered Monday and Wednesday evenings, with options to skate one or two nights per week.

We’re looking forward to another great season of learning, growing and making memories on the ice!
