Walking Cricket Comes to Painswick!!
Fancy playing cricket but think your running days might be behind you? Walking Cricket
could be just the thing!
Painswick Cricket Club, in partnership with the Gloucestershire Cricket Foundation, is
introducing Walking Cricket to Painswick this September.
As the name suggests, there's no running involved. It's a slower-paced, low-impact
version of the game designed to be fun, friendly and accessible. You don't need to have
played cricket before, you don't need to be particularly fit, and all equipment is provided.
Walking Cricket is a great way to enjoy some gentle exercise, meet new people and have
a bit of friendly competition along the way. Everyone gets involved, whether batting,
bowling or fielding, and you simply play at your own pace.
We're holding two FREE indoor taster sessions in the hall at Painswick
Cricket/Rugby Club, Broadham Fields, GL6 6UT:
Monday 21st September, 10.30-11.30am
Monday 28th September, 10.30-11.30am
And it doesn't have to end when the cricket finishes. Afterwards, there'll be an opportunity
to stay for a while, sit down and have a chat with the other players - making the sessions
as much about meeting people and enjoying some company as playing cricket.
Men and women are equally welcome, whatever your ability or previous experience.
Why not come along and give it a try? You might discover a new way to enjoy cricket -
and make some new friends at the same time.
