Ottawa International Soccer Club is proud to congratulate our very own Roy Hillier on being named the inaugural recipient of the Roy Hillier Award for Technical Achievement in Soccer, presented by the Eastern Ontario Soccer (EOS) District on May 31, 2026, in Ottawa.

Established by EOS to recognize outstanding contributions to the technical development of soccer within the District, the award reflects the organization's long-standing commitment to advancing coach education and supporting the technical growth of clubs across Eastern Ontario. It is particularly fitting that the award bears Roy's name and that he is its first recipient.

The award was presented by Boris Bajagic, EOS TAG Technical Group Adviser, in the presence of family, friends, fellow Technical Directors, and soccer leaders from across the region. Representing Ottawa International Soccer Club at the ceremony were Club President Renso Vittoretti and Technical Director Peter Mpandere.

Roy's impact on soccer extends far beyond the touchline. During his tenure as Club Head Coach at Ottawa International Soccer Club, he helped establish a culture of excellence rooted in player-centred development, coach education, and technical leadership. His vision, mentorship, and commitment to developing both players and coaches strengthened OISC and laid foundations that continue to benefit the club today.

Beyond OISC, Roy played a pivotal role in advancing the game throughout Eastern Ontario. Through his leadership with the Club Head Coaches Forum and later the EOS Technical Advisory Group (TAG), he fostered collaboration among clubs and helped elevate coaching standards and technical development across the District. The positive effects of his work continue to be felt throughout the soccer community.

This recognition is a testament to decades of service, leadership, and dedication to the game. Roy's influence has shaped countless players, coaches, and organizations, leaving a legacy that will continue to inspire future generations.

On behalf of everyone at Ottawa International Soccer Club, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Roy on this well-deserved honour. We thank him for his tremendous contributions to our club, our community, and the sport of soccer.
