I’m sure you’ve once heard someone say “I’m not motivated, I’m disciplined.”
Which, is likely true. However, your next thought might’ve been “okay, so how do I stay disciplined?”
I was listening to speak on podcast last week, and a strategy that Ed’s father had used to stay disciplined to quit drinking resonated with me, and the methods that I use to stay consistent with my workout routine.
“One more day. I’m just going to keep going for one more day.”
Repeat that intention to yourself, every day.
The reality is: all you need to focus on is today.
One day at a time. Do it again tomorrow.
Have compassion for yourself on the days that you’re not feeling or performing at your best. Honour your well-being and do what your body needs that day, whether it’s a walk, yoga, a good stretch session, or any kind of movement/recovery.
Sometimes we don’t realize that we are overwhelming ourselves by feeling the need to be perfect, therefore standing in our own way of growth.
Not every day is going to look like you expected it to, and that doesn’t matter.
What matters is that you keep putting your 100% effort into it, even on the days that you’re at 20% - put your 100% effort into that 20%, and before you know it, a year has gone by and you’ve done more than you ever thought you could.
All to be said, just keep going for one more day ♥️
