Rowan's Legacy Rowan was a 17 year old rugby player who succumbed to complications of concussions. Rowan's Law is aiming to enact the first concussion protocol in Canada.

Rowan Stringer was a 17 year old Ottawa, Ontario Rugby player who succumbed to multiple undetected concussions. is the push for concussion protocol in the province of Ontario, to give the tools to athletes, coaches, trainers and supporters to keep all of our athletes safe and make sure tragedies like this never happen again. Rugby Ontario has been advised by the Ontario Government that certain aspects of the Rowan’s Law legislation will come into effect on July 1, 2019.

Rowan’s Law legislation was passed by the Ontario Government in 2018. This legislation is named in memory of Rowan Stringer who tragically died in 2013 of Second Impact Syndrome, the result of suffering multiple concussion playing rugby three times in six days.

Rowan’s Law is applicable to 65 sports in Ontario as well as educational institutions.
