CLEAR WATER AHEAD. ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฆ
This is the race to remember.
Two thousand metres. 9:45.91. Bronze in the 2k at Worlds.
But what weโll remember most is how it felt. We hit the running start, first five, and ups as we moved past the boat closest to us.
And then we settled. Not relaxed or comfortable. Just locked in.
Race pace, claiming our water. Every turn became a job to power through, and maintain our speed.
โโ
IN KATHY WE TRUST ๐ฒ
We cannot say enough about Kathy Bobyn at the helm. Her turns were sharp and precise and strategic, and in a 2000m race that is everything. She gave us the line. We gave her the power.
Then the final 500m.
You know that place friends. ๐ฅ
The place where the race stops being about fitness and starts becoming about what you are willing to do with the hurt.
Natacha counted us through it. One hundred metres at a time.
โKeep going.โ she called. โStay connected. Stay with it.โ
There was no panic. No thought of โI canโt.โ Just paddle Another stroke. And another one.
Kathy called to us from the back:
โClear water ahead, ladies. Give it all youโve got!โ
No saving anything. No thinking about what comes after.
We went for it.
And then the finish-line beep. Our boat erupted.
That sound of joy. That feeling. That gorgeous, exhausted certainty:
we gave it everything.
๐ฅ 500m
๐ฅ 200m
๐ฅ 2000m
Triple bronze at Worlds.
Two years to get here. And in the end, the thing were proudest of is that when the race got hard, we knew who we were.
Rotate. Bury. Connect. Find new water.
We found our new water. And left nothing behind.
โโ
THE WOMEN BESIDE US. ๐
And beside us through it all were our B sisters โ paddling with heart, humour and so much talent. We are deeply grateful for what they brought to this crew: strength, experience, calm, and the kind of energy that makes a hard race feel possible. ๐
