Halloween will always remind me of Jacquie 🎃

There is such irony in grief. It can only exist because something beautiful and so full of life was once there.

Grief doesn’t just mark what’s gone, it reminds us to hold tighter to what remains, and to appreciate what was, even if part of us wishes it were different today.

Jacquie was the sun 🌞 with her burning desire to live life fully, explore all that could be explored, create everything there was to create, build everyone there was to build - insatiable in her desire for what’s next

People orbited around her like the bright star that she was. Pulled in her by gravity, keeping those around her safe, inspired and feeling like anything was possible

She was so full of life, with a magnetic field so strong even those who briefly met her could feel it

There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for those that she cared about. No mountain she wouldn’t climb, ocean she wouldn’t cross

While her sun has set on earth, I know she’s a sun rising somewhere else, off on her next adventure

I’m heartbroken that’s she’s no longer with us, and I’m so thankful for every second we got

Until we meet again 💃🏼🕺🏼🪩❤️⚡️🏕️

The quality of our lives is determined by the quality of our questions. ⁣
⁣
A powerful question can unlock rooms full of self-discovery that were once locked away + hidden.⁣
⁣
There was a time in my life when I came to the heartbreaking conclusion that I was incapable of romantic love. I saw how my friends felt about their boyfriends + realized that I couldn’t access that. ⁣
⁣
I was q***r, I just didn’t know it yet. I never asked nor was asked the right questions. An assumption was made + that assumption dedicated my life, until the first time I questioned it.⁣
⁣
At that moment, I learned something profound about myself that had always been there. It was simply hidden in plain sight.⁣
⁣
What assumptions might you be making about yourself that are in fact not true?⁣
⁣
What would happiness look like to you if you didn’t try to measure it but instead experienced it? ⁣
⁣
What would success look like if you didn’t compare yourself to those around you? ⁣

There are answers in each challenge that presents itself. ⁣

I don’t mean that in a fake positivity way. ⁣
⁣
The reality is that those answers are often tough to swallow and will require us to make changes that make us uncomfortable because change is uncomfortable. ⁣
⁣
The toughest changes aren’t in what we do - they are in how we think and approach what we do. ⁣
⁣
Letting go of how you wanted something to be, what you thought success looked like, how you measured your worth, is hard because you have to shift how you see the world, and yourself within that world. ⁣
⁣
The reason there are answers in each challenge that presents itself is because whatever is confronting you is highlighting what needs to shift and the more you shift the more ease is created longterm. ⁣
⁣

How is one supposed to answer the questions ‘who are you and what do you do?’⁣
⁣
We put so much of our sense of self into ‘the work that we do’ and for most people that work isn’t this life giving, creative expression of who they are, it’s what they do to pay the bills. ⁣
⁣
A life cannot be confined into something as small as a job title, your career, an amount of money in the bank. ⁣
⁣
A life is made up of millions of moments and is something to be experienced, yet we’re conditioned to feel it's more a checklist to mark off.⁣
⁣
We spend so much time anticipating the future, we miss out on today. ⁣
⁣
We spend so much time worrying that we’re not doing enough that we forget all that we’ve already done. ⁣
⁣
We spend so much time assuming others possess qualities that we don’t, we forget that those we admire were once very much in a similar position as we are now.⁣
⁣
Stepping into the vastness of who we are and what we’re capable of means cutting the ropes that anchor us to our own comfort zone⁣.
⁣
Every moment is an opportunity and a gift to explore the question ‘who are you’ without needing to attach it to ‘what do you do’⁣.

I know everything you read online screams that crypto is just a get rich quick scheme full of fraud and ponzis. ⁣
⁣
And while those things do exist, as they do in every industry, crypto (blockchain) is about so much more than just money. ⁣
⁣
The crypto space is far from perfect. But the internet is also far from perfect yet we use it everyday and it’s positively enhanced our lives and the world in so many ways. ⁣
⁣
Most crypto media coverage only focuses on it as an investment (it’s up, it’s down, people are idiots for investing in it blah blah), instead of focusing on crypto as a tool. ⁣
⁣
It’s a technology that people usebuild and innovate on - tokens (the $) is just a part of it, but it isn’t all of it. ⁣
Think pre smart phones. Remember cell phones before the invention of IOS technology aka apples software that makes a phone a mini computer? There are apps we use every day including IG that wouldn’t exist without IOS. ⁣
⁣
Blockchain has been and will continue to unlock a huge new wave of innovation and entrepreneurship. ⁣
⁣
I believe this tool will dictate the next 25+ years of our lives in terms of its adoption. ⁣
⁣
This past year I went to conferences all over the world, spent countless hours in groups and online collaborating, learning and building. I can say with confidence that there isn’t an industry out there that isn’t exploring it and innovating using it. ⁣
⁣
There is no rush to jump in, my hope is simply that this year more people spend a little bit of time learning about it and how it might help you with your own personal goals and your vision for your community. ⁣
⁣
Remember that the internet took a very long time to be adopted by the masses. That it too was called a fad, a scam, and that it wouldn't have any place in our lives long term because it didn’t offer us anything new. Well we all know how that turned out. ⁣
⁣
Blockchain is a tool and I’m looking forward to seeing what people continue to build. ⁣
⁣
Be open, be curious, be skeptical. Healthy skepticism mixed with curiosity is how brilliant things are built after all.⁣
