If you were anything like me this weekend, you watched Ottawa Race Weekend and immediately convinced yourself you’re signing up for a race this summer. 😂
There’s something contagious about seeing thousands of people out there pushing themselves, cheering each other on, and proving what the human body is capable of.
But before you lace up and start piling on mileage, your body will thank you for taking 5 minutes to prep properly first.
These are 7 of my favourite activation exercises to help wake up the hips, glutes, core, and ankles before a run so you can move better, feel better, and hopefully stay healthier through training.
Especially important if:
• you sit a lot during the day
• your hips feel tight when you run
• your knees or lower back tend to get cranky
• you’re new to running or getting back into it
A good run starts before the first step. 🏃♀️
Save this for your next run so you’ve got a quick warm-up ready to go!
