OSU announces Sebastian Rodriguez as Men’s LS Pro Head Coach

Coach Sebastian Rodriguez will lead the Men’s LS Pro Program for the remainder of the 2026 season. His experience in the league, both as a player and coach, while being a respected leader within the program over the past three years make him the natural choice.

We are now looking ahead to the second half of the league calendar, and to continuing a positive run of results this season.

Coach Vlad Vrsecky to depart for Czech First League coaching role with FC Viktoria Plzen

Vlad will depart for Czechia later this month to take up a coaching role in the Czech First League with one of the top clubs - FC Viktoria Plzen.

Vlad joined us in 2023 and is in his third season leading the L1 program. Since this time, he has helped lead the program to two league titles, including the Reserves Division and U19 League last season. In 2024, Vlad was named Reserve Division - Coach of the Year in the PLSQ.

This year, the Men’s team is off to its best start, sitting top of the table as the league nears the mid-way point of the Summer season.

The opportunity to progress into a European first division professional set-up, is a positive step in his coaching career, that OSU fully supports, as it serves to demonstrate that the L1 platform is not only providing opportunities for players, but coaches as well.

On behalf of everyone at the club, we want to take a moment to recognize Vlad for his contributions to OSU over the past three years, and wish him all the best.

In celebration of the World Cup starting this week, OSU has partnered with the Minto Recreational Complex to bring after-school soccer access to children in the community this month.

Starting June 15, we are offering the program from 3:30-4:30, on Monday-Wednesday-Friday as a test pilot. There is no cost to attend the program.

If successful, there may be an opportunity to extend the program. To attend, there is an RSVP form for each day, that can be completed here: https://form.jotform.com/261572514665259

Welcome, Sophie! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

We are pleased to welcome Sophie Hunter, as our summer exchange placement coach, in partnership with Challenger Sports. Over the last three years, OSU has partnered with Challenger Sports, to invest in bringing qualified and engaged coaches from the UK, to enhance and support our club programming each summer.

Sophie is from Livingston, Scotland, and is currently studying Football Coaching and Development at Edinburgh Napier University, where she has obtained her UEFA C-License. Outside of university studies, she works with Hearts of Midlothian (Scottish Premier League) as a development coach.

Sophie will be involved with NEXTGEN, Pre-Academy, Future Stars and the Junior Academy Girls training sessions this Summer.

Please take a moment to welcome her at the field in the coming weeks.
