is an ORCKA certified canoe course business and has strong values based on a passion for outdoors and teaching. ORCKA, which stands for the Ontario Recreational Canoe and Kayak Association, is a Nationally recognized canoe training program that focuses on technique and skills to improve and build on the fundamentals of canoeing. Each date the course is offered, participants are able to sign up for
a 1 day course, which offers ORCKA Level 1 & 2, or add on a day for 2 day course which will give you Level 3 Certification. A participant package will be sent prior to the course date with additional information. Scheduled courses are in the Ottawa area. If the standard course dates or location do not work, personalized course dates can be arranged to fit your busy summer schedule. Prices:
$100 for 1 day ORCKA Level 1 & 2
Only $50 more to add an extra day course to get the Level 3 Certification (Basic Canoeing Level 3 is the pre-requisite for further ORCKA Courses)
Level 1: Launching and Removing; Entering and Exiting; Pivots; Sideward Displacement; Forward Straight Line and Stop; Landing; Lifts and Carries
Level 2: Turns; Circles; Landings; Reverse Straight Line
Level 3: Introduction to the 5 Core Flatwater Skills: Pivots, Landings, Circles, Sideward Displacement, Forward and Reverse Straight Line plus Stopping
