YMCA educator Tatiana noticed the children’s interest in fall. By digging deeper, she discovered what really captured their attention: all things spooky!

That observation became the spark for playful experiences with letters, light, shapes, stories, and dramatic play.

Spooky season, cardboard edition. 👻

A haunted house is a fun way to bring hands-on, screen-free play into October. In a YMCA Before & After School Program, children used simple materials to build, decorate and add spooky little details while practising creativity, planning, fine motor skills and problem-solving.

Try it at home with one box, glue and a few cotton-ball cobwebs. Friendly ghosts welcome.
