There were 3 games this week as the league was completing their schedule. The first game Wednesday at Woodview Park was canceled when the Knights defaulted
and the Guns received a 7 - 0 win.
The games last night went off without a hitch as the Bombers confirmed their first place finish with a 6 - 1 win over the Wranglers at 6:30. The 8:30 featured the Ravens and the Guns and their score was a 11 - 2 win for the Ravens.

It was a tight game after 5 innings as the Bombers held a 2 - 1 edge. In the top of the sixth inning the Bombers exploded for 4 runs on an error, 2 singles after two outs and three run home run from our rookie ninth batter in the line up, Aidan Caprietar. Final score Bombers 6 - Wranglers 1.

The Ravens came out hot in the first inning and scored 5 runs on a walk, a double, single, a second walk and 3 run home run by Bryant Polonco. This week we saw two losses by the Bradley's Wranglers to the Knights and the Guns. The Bombers out hit the Ravens 9 - 1 in their night cap on Thursday .

The Wranglers stranded three runners in the bottom of the last inning when the Knights issued another intentional walk to juice up the bases. Their strategy worked out as the next batter hit a ground ball for the 3rd out, short stop to third base for the force. Final Knights 6 - Wranglers 5.

Wranglers sweep through the 4 games they played in the Skelton Shootout Claremont, to capture the Chamionschip and keep it in the DMFL Family for the second year after the Bombers won the inaugural in 2025.

Next weeks games will be at Woodview Park, Oshawa. Wednesday 8:30 is a Regular League game and Thursday are Make Up games at 6:30 & 8.30. Kids baseball will be at Alexandra Park.

Good day Fastball Fans

Our 3 games this past week were a little tough on our league as there were two defaults by the Knights. The Bombers and the Guns both received 7 - 0 winning scores as a result of the Knights inability to field a minimum of 8 players as per the DMFL's rules.
It was a tough week to field teams as many players and coaches were involved in the ISC World Tournament in Melbourne, Ontario hosted by the Bear Creek teams.
On a more positive note there was a 6:30 game on Thursday night that we will report on.

Game # 41 saw the Wranglers vs the Ravens

The Wranglers out hit the Ravens 11 to 7 and that seemed to be the difference as it helped them win by a score of 8 - 4.
The second time through the lineup the Wranglers hit gold as they produced 7 runs on 5 hits, 3 walks and a hit by pitch.
The Ravens produced 2 runs each in the 5th & 6th inning but that was it for their offense.

Their were a lot of batters in this one as the pitchers faced 73 batters in total. The Ravens scored 7 runs in the first 4 innings off Wrangler's pitcher Bobby Lewis before Matt Davis relieved him and shut the door in the last 3 innings.
Raven's Brian Mather relieved starter Jeff Drinkle after 2 innings and allowed but one run over his 5 innings. Ravens played stellar defense.

One complete game, nearly an upset, and two mercy games. Great weather to get out here to watch some Men's fastpitch.

Turned out to be a barn burner when the Knights Greg Horne stroked a 3 run home run over the left field fence in the top of the 6th inning. Score 6 - 5 Knights, but the Wranglers stepped up and with two out Albert Spena smoked a triple to left centre with Mario Dasilva's double. Tied it. After a walk Will Macavelia singled Spena home for a 7 - 6 win.

We were able to play 3 games this week despite the heat and the smoke fouling the air from the fires up north. I was surprised that the breathing was not bad at all. Hydration was very important for teams and Umpires.
